By Request – Birdie Sling

One of my customers requested a Birdie Sling (and matching wipes cover) in the fun Poppy Collection by Laura Gunn for Michael Miller.  I truly enjoyed making this bag because I haven’t made a Birdie Sling in a while and I just adore the bag.  I also love how  the Dogwood Stripe and Skinny Stripes coordinate.
If you aren’t familiar with the Birdie Sling, the design is by Amy Butler and it is a VERY roomy bag with 3 pockets inside.  The pleats give it a nice polished look and the banded opening offers easy access to the deep interior.  This Sling does not call for a closure of any type, but given the depth of the bag, you really don’t need one.

If you are interested in making this bag, you can see the material/tools list by <clicking here>.
You can also read my original pattern review for the Birdie Sling <here>.
The bag is not too difficult (yet it can be time consuming) and you can pick up the pattern anywhere from Amazon to Etsy.
