Let me show you what I mean.....
Here is an original photo of a ruffle dress I made for a local photographer:
Now, there is nothing wrong with the photo - it's bright and colorful! But look what a little photo editing can produce:
I muted the colors a tiny bit which doesn't detract from the brightness and adds an artistic quality to the photo.
So, in my quest for learning more about photo editing I came across a photo editing challenge from My Reflection of Something that I thought I would enter just for the fun of it.
Here is the original photo:
Cute isn't it? I think the focus of this photo are the bright socks and I wanted to highlight them more, so I de-saturated the main photo and increased the intensity of the socks. I also gave the photo a soft blur and cropped out the grass....
Now your eyes are immediately drawn to the bright socks. Cute no? You can check out the fun things others did with this picture HERE.
I have several photo editing software - Aperature is good for a quick fix and is great for adding watermarks easily, but I use Adobe Photoshop for my main editing....it is very powerful but has a steep learning curve. I've been using Photoshop for over 10 years and have not even scraped the surface of it's capabilities!
Absolutely great editing in the first photo! Love the use of selective color in my photo.
