Upcycled Summer Dress: 15 Minute Project

A friend of mine gave me this cute summer dresses that she no longer wanted.  It didn't quite fit me right, and I didn't want it to go to waste so I thought I'd transform it into a dress for my older daughter.

Here is the original dress:
Cute, right?

I wanted to keep this simple, so I cut off the bodice right where the shirring began.  Took the dress in about 2" on both sides, serged all the exposed raw edges (top and inside side seams).  Then reattached the straps.

Final result:

 Not bad for a 15 minute up-cycle!!!
And best yet, my daughter adores it.
I could've shortened it a bit and re-hemmed it, but my daughter wanted it long.  Who am I to argue with this face?
