I have to say, it came together much more quickly than I had anticipated. You simply download the pattern piece (there are two pieces, one for the large pillow, and another for the small pillow). I cut, sewed and stuffed this pillow in about 45 minutes.
I used a holiday layer cake and it worked perfectly. I simply folded each square in half to get two of the pillow pieces. I used a rotary cutter and cut 6 pieces at a time which sped the whole thing up.
I used white linen for the rest of the pillow.
This one (as much as I would like to keep it) is slated for a holiday craft show.
So, I wanted to let you know that if you had any reservations on trying to make this - don't! It was super simple, and it really is a "WOW" piece.
Oh, and while I was in the pillow-making mood, I whipped up another linen pillow.
Happy Sewing!
The sprocket pillow is cute, but I LOVE your linen pillow! I've seen a tutorial for a table runner with the non-parallel strips, and I am always just drawn to that motif. I think I just need to make something like it for my house.
