An Easter Dress!

Do you remember my post that listed a bunch of fun spring tutorials?  Well, I had the opportunity to make my youngest daughter the Spring Fever Dress by Me Sew Crazy.

This cute ruffle dress was a pleasure to sew.  I don't make much clothing, so I truly enjoyed piecing it together.  Thankfully, the directions were clear and I didn't have any trouble at all.  My only recommendation is to be sure you know which is the 1st 2nd and 3rd ruffle!

I think the back panel with the matching buttons may be my favorite part....or perhaps its the little rosette on the front!
You may notice that the colors are a bit dull in these photos...I did that to drown out the background - I tried to get my daughter outside to take some nice shots, but she just refused.  And, we all know that when a 2 yr. old refuses to do something, there is not much that is going to convince them otherwise....So - pictures on our somewhat messy porch/playroom had to suffice.  Thanks to editing software, the mess becomes a cool, antique looking background!
For this dress I chose Amy Butler's Sweet Jasmine (Natural) and Full Moon Polka Dot (Lime) fabrics.  The accent fabric for the rosette and back panel trim are Painter's Canvas (Lime) from Laura Gunn.

The only problem with making something like this is that now my older daughter wants one!
If you have a little girl to make this for, you really should!
