My Dream Store...a Reality?!

My husband is constantly listening to me talk about my dream to open a small  fabric store.  A store where one can find the latest quilting fabrics and patterns from designers and distributers like Heather Bailey, Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry, Alexander Henry, Michael Miller, etc.  A place where people can come for a sewing class, or to share ideas.
 
I envision a small store in a small town with the walls bursting in color from all the wonderful fabrics.  I'm not talking JoAnn's here.  I'm talking about a well organized, well-lit, fashonable, AMAZING store that just screams "YOU NEED TO COME IN!" from the window display.  A store that carries a well defined theme throughout. A store that will inspire a non-sewer to WANT to sew.   There is NOTHING like that around my neighborhood...or even for miles around.

This dream of mine just became a little more of a reality when I stumbled across a website for a little shop called City Craft.  Based in Dallas, this is EVERYTHING I have dreamt of and more.   This store has found the perfect balance between style, craft and function.  They not only sell fabrics, hold sewing classes, but host "Open Sew" nights where you can bring your current project and use their equipment and work and socialize with other crafters.  Unbelievable!
 
Perhaps in a few years when both of my kids are in school full time I will find the motivation, time and ability to open a similar place myself.  For now I dream.....
