Fabric Mouse Pad

scrap_sat_je2
This week’s Scrappy Saturday project is a fabric mouse pad.  I came up with this idea because I actually needed one.  Necessity is the mother of all invention, right? For whatever reason, my mouse was not tracking right on my desk – my husband says it’s the sheen  of the coating on the wood.  I wasn’t sure if that was the case, but I did know a mouse pad would probably solve my issue.  I did some research and found a few tutorials on how to recover an old pad, and how to make one out of cork board.  Unfortunately… I didn’t have an old mouse pad, nor did I have cork board….so, I used what I had on hand:
>fabric
>low-loft batting or fusible fleece
>interfacing
>some rubber shelf liner
>a piece of paper (yup…you’ll see)
I wanted to try something new for delivering this tutorial. This week you can watch my tutorial on the slideshow below AND you can download or print <this pdf file>!
I think this is a neater, and nicer way of presenting my tutorials.  Let me know if you like the new format.  Hopefully I will have time to do this for future posts….
This mouse pad took me about 20 minutes.
