Pattern Review - Sew Baby Bloomers (Baby Layette)

Why I chose this pattern:
I was looking for a simple diaper cover to make for a local photographer as well as my 11 month old and this pattern fit the bill. I loved that the pattern came with so many other patterns (my 3 yr old and I had fun making the stuffed giraffe together).

Difficulty Level: Beginner. The bloomers are very simple to cut and construct. No fancy skills required. Straight stitching and a bit of zig zag for the elastic only.

What I Loved:
The quick and easy construction! The bloomers took about 30 minutes! Best part, they look so cute on my little one!

What I Didn't Love:
Two things, one - the pattern itself doesn't lend itself to creating different sizes. The way it's laid out, once you cut one size, the other sizes are not usable. I am creating some of these for a local photographer to use so I need to make all the sizes....I'll have to adjust the pattern myself. Two - I didn't like that the seams are not finished. Ok, so nobody sees them, but I like "finished looks", so I will be finishing my seams.

Suggested Changes: Finish the seams. Either iron and fold over before stitching or use an overlock stitch to prevent fraying....if you have a serger, you can use that.

Tips:
If you want to make these in different sizes, perhaps photocopy the pattern before cutting!

Would I Recommend It? Yes! This would make a great gift, or a very cute option for putting under dresses! It also makes for cute pictures.
