Do you ever have one of those projects that you just can't get right? This morning I seem to be working on one of those. I had a request for a bib with a Mets logo on it. Soooooo, I purchased the design and started embroidering. No big deal, right? Ha!!!! What should have been a simple endeavor has turned into a huge project. Why? Well...let me share my morning.
We decided to go with an orange bib. The design came with a full stitch out or an applique. Since I didn't have the proper royal blue fabric, I opted for the stitched design. I got through the blue interior just fine, but while stitching the white border, my thread got hung up which ended up pulling the hoop out of line. Of course I didn't realize this until I got 80% of the way through the border. GRRRRR. In the garbage.
As I was having some choice words with my machine about all the time that was just wasted, I remembered I had a small piece of blue satin. YES! Applique! Less thread used, less time....absolutely the way to go. I made it through the entire design, then when I went to clean up the thread lint with my lint roller, the roller actually ended up pulling the satin right out of the design! NOOOOOO!!!!!! Another 30 minutes lost. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and GRRRRRRRRR again.
My garbage is getting full of orange, blue and white! Sooooo not happy about this.
Now what? I don't want to use the satin as obviously it won't hold up well in this design. I don't have any cotton to use in the applique. I guess I'm back to re-stitching the design.
Thanks for listening to me vent!
This seems to happen on every project for my niece. I can embroider & appliqué for everyone else, but hers always goes awry!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how that works? Oh well. You'll be happy to know I FINALLY got it right, but it took FOREVER!!!!!
