Jammin' Teacher Gifts!

With the end of the school year a few weeks away, and a whole lot of strawberries from our farm visit, I thought it would be perfect the two together!
Who wouldn't love a jar of homemade jam as a gift?  So, when making my jam, I took the time to properly can them in gift-size jars.

And, in true Sewplicity fashion, added a touch of colorful fabric to finish them off.
So, if you happened to can your own goods, and want to dress them up for giving, here is a quick tutorial on how I made these.....

WHAT YOU NEED:

>  Canned Goodies
>  Fabric Scraps
>  String or Ribbon
>  Tags/Labels
>  Hole Punch for Tags
>  Pinking Shears (optional)
>  Circle Cutting Guide (optional)

Cut Your Fabric
Cut a bunch of 6" (diameter) circles.

I like to trim them with pinking shears for a nice finish that won't fray.
Add Fabric to Jars
Simply unscrew the top (don't break the vacuum seal of the lid) and center the fabric on top of the jar.  Screw the top back on.  If using different type of jars, you can simply place the fabric over the entire top and tie it around the neck of the jar.

Tie Labels
Use string, ribbon or raffia to tie your labels around the top.  I used these labels that I found online.  Make sure you include the canning date for freshness.  I used the back of the label to write personal notes.

That's it!  A delicious gift that will be greatly appreciated!
