Between my CD player and my kids DVD player (don't worry - they only get to watch videos on LONG trips), we have a bunch of CDs floating around in my car. I've been wanting to make a funky bright CD visor for a while and FINALLY got around to it!
There are a bunch of tutorials for these hanging around the web....I choose to use the one by Puking Pastilles as a guide.
I say guide, because I did change some things......let me share....
First, Georgia Leah uses Peltex to provide stiffness. While I agree that this is optimal, I didn't have any on hand, so I grabbed a priority mail cardboard envelope I had and cut it to size. It worked perfectly thank you very much! (A piece of thin plastic, or anything that is thin, stiff and can be sewn through would work...just remember you can't WASH anything with cardboard)
Next, I decided to use a medium weight interfacing on all of my fabric. This is just preference. I like the feel of interfaced fabric, especially for this use. This will thicken the sides a bit, but I used a denim needle which did the job without a problem.
Finally, I top stitched all of my pocket edges. Once again, this is just preference!
And that's that. This was a super easy project and the instructions were super simple to follow. This took me under 30 minutes from start to finish. And did I tell you how much I LOVE it?!
