Family Vacation

As you probably know, I took some time off between Christmas and New Year's.  The day after Christmas we loaded up the car and the kids and drove for about 10 hours for what seems to be turning into our annual road trip to Myrtle Beach.
We spent 4 days at the Dunes Village Resort.  We love this place.  It is always clean, provides us a kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and all the convieniences of home....the best part is it has two indoor water parks full of fun for the kids (and hot tubs for us adults)

Myrtle Beach is great during the off-season.  The hotel prices are unbeatable, there are no crowds, and there are plenty of things to do.  Although it wasn't swimming weather, every day we headed out to the beach to enjoy the sand.
We also visited the local aquarium...
And each morning, I grabbed my cup of coffee and headed to the beach by myself to sit in silence and enjoy the stunning sunrise.
Oh...and the sunsets were just as fabulous!
We had a wonderful time and look forward to whenever we get a chance to go again!

  1. Oh, I miss Myrtle Beach. My family used to go every year, and yes, the coast of NC and SC are so much less crowded (and cheaper!) during the off season. Maybe I'll have to plan a trip for next winter!
