I know, I know - I almost fell victim to the "soooo easy way out" when I saw the exact costume my daughter wanted in the store for $19.00. Sure - it's cheap, but far from original. If you need a little encouraging, make sure you visit these links for FREE tutorials. I've found simple, complex and inbetween costumes that you can make for the price of materials (and a little time and love).
I'm sure you can find the hour or two you will need to make an original, one of a kind, compliment earning costume!

And if this hasn't convinced you to go the handmade route, I can tell you that my most memorable costumes from my childhood are the ones my Mom made for me!
I just started making my youngest daughter's costume....I'll do a full post on it when it's finished, but here is a sneak peek....
Now get sewing....you still have a few weeks!!!!
