What I've Been Up To....

Well, I haven't been sewing.  I did what I said and left my Janome covered for the past week, although I really had no choice as my family and I just got back from a road trip.  NJ to Florida and back.  We logged about 2500 miles total and our kids pleasantly surprised us by handling all those hours in the car wonderfully!

We left Christmas day drove for about 4-5 hours, stopped in VA for dinner and headed to Lumberton, NC which was our half way mark.  We woke up to 4" of snow and immediately headed south.  We made it to Jacksonville by 4pm then had another few hours of driving to make it to Port St. Lucie which was our final destination.  We got out of the car to a chilly 48' temp.  Really?  Thankfully it warmed a bit over the next few days, but our Florida vacation was spent in jackets.  At least we missed that nasty snow storm at home!

We got to play a little soccer
 Enjoy the wildlife
 and the views
 Spend quality time with grandparents
 Feed the stingrays
Search for seashells
And before we knew it, it was time to get back in the car and head home.  But we broke the trip up by stopping in Savannah for dinner and a street car ride....

Then headed to Myrtle Beach for New Year's weekend

Although staying up late to celebrate with the hubby and waking up with the kids first thing in the morning is not easy - but it is easier when you have lovely children, a beautiful beach AND a good latte!!

When we finally got home most of the 18" of snow had melted, but the kids were excited to make a snowman with what was left.  Now, the holidays are over and we're all back to the hum drum of daily life.  My sewing machine is uncovered and I'm already inundated with orders, but am hoping to find a little time for some new tutorials ....and am working on a new pattern to sell in my shop so keep posted!  Happy 2011 everyone!
