I couldn’t wait – I had to re-make this Buttercup Bag and get it right, and I’m so glad I did. This time I used fabrics from the Andalucia Collection by Paula Prass for Michael Miller.
I not only placed the snap 1” down from the top (which allowed me the space I needed) but I used fusible fleece on the exterior which gives the bag some nice dimension – even nicer than the interfacing I used on my mishap bag!
I shortened up the strap to 27” which I feel is the perfect size for this little purse. I also made the interior pocket 1” wider – I felt the original was just a tad too small.
Here are some pictures:
So there you have it. Now I feel much better! I was going to keep this cutie for myself, but since my daughters have been fighting over my Mishap bag, I suppose I will give them this one to ease the arguments! (I’ve found that when you have two girls close in age, you need TWO of everything).
So now that I have closure here, this is what I am working on for the upcoming weeks:
- Tomorrow is Scrappy Saturday – be sure to stop by for a new project to eat up those scraps!
- I’m just about finished with my “Not Just Another Pillowcase Dress” pattern/tutorial. I hope to get that to you next week (I know I’ve been working on this for a while….it’s just about there…REALLY!
- I am working on making a downloadable tutorial with pattern for a newborn diaper cover. I have looked high and low for a FREE pattern that I like and have come up with NADA! I’m taking the initiative here and making my own pattern to give to you here on my blog. Stay posted!
- I am STILL working on a GIVEAWAY. I just haven’t found the time to make anything cool to giveaway! Once I do, I will launch my first official Sewplicity Blog Giveaway Contest. I want it to be a good one! If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see me give away – let me know, I’m open to suggestions!
Hope you are all staying cool this week – I know I’m melting!
