Street Fair Update

I’m happy to say the rain held out for me yesterday.  The skies were threatening all day, but it didn’t rain until 15 minutes before the fair close.  Talk about luck!

All in all, I think the day was successful.  I generated a lot of interest in my totes and high chair covers and made a bunch of sales on my smaller items.  I have to say, although doing the street fair was fun, it took a lot of preparation and work to pull it off. 

While I didn’t make high chair covers to sell, I did place two of them in my booth along with some informational sheets on availability and ordering info.

  I tried to keep my tables neat and uncluttered.   Too much stuff can be overwhelming.  I kept additional stock under the table cloths for easy access.

I’ve found that craft fairs are a great venue for selling my totes.  The bright colors draw a lot of attention, and honestly, who can’t use another bag?  I’m also happy that this fair forced me to find the time to make these bags.  I have some left over that I will be listing in my shop this week and one that I will be keeping for myself :)

 
Given my product line, I placed a children’s table outside my booth with some coloring pages and crayons.  This not only entertained the children and allowed Mom to browse, but also worked to draw in people with children who might not have stopped in otherwise!

And that’s it!  I’m glad I did it, and I’m glad it’s over.  I give crafters who do this on a regular basis a lot of credit.   I personally can’t see doing this more than once or twice a year (at least while my kids are still little).  I have to thank my husband for putting up with me and the craziness the past month.  He has been a wonderfully supportive and helpful.  He also acted as the pack mule for this show.  I couldn’t have done it without him!

Now, I’m off to celebrate with a little time off.  I plan on taking some time to myself today which is very much needed and deserved!
