Suggesting a sewing machine to someone is very difficult. The choice you make when buying a sewing machine is a very personal one that depends on many different things - budget, use, skill level, preference, space, etc. So making a recommendation on which sewing machine to purchase is close to impossible. Instead I thought I'd ask you to share a brief review on your sewing machine.
Here is the idea... Post a comment here giving telling us:
> Brand and model of your machine
> What you typically use it for
> What you love about it
> What you don't love about it
> Give it an overall rating from 1-10 (10 being the best)
My Machine:
I've have a few machines. The one I use the most is my Janome Memory Craft 6500P. I use it for making all types of bags and high chair covers.
I LOVE that it sews through thick fabrics like butter. It is super fast and comes with every type of sewing foot you could need. The machine was not cheap, but since I sew for a living a professional machine is a necessity.
I DON'T LOVE the fact that it doesn't have a free arm. With two little girls I like to make cute outfits for them on occasion. Without a free arm this machine is close to impossible to use as it is difficult to work on necklines and such. I pull out my Brother CS-6000 when working on clothing.
OVERALL RATING: 8
I'd love to hear what machine you use and what you have to say about it. Post away!
