Why I Chose This Pattern:
As a big fan of Amy Butler, and large bags, this is one pattern that I needed to make. I love any pattern where you can use multiple fabrics! I had this set of Marcus Brothers fabric lying around that I thought would just work perfect for this - and I was right!
Difficulty Rating: Beginner. This was a very easy project. The directions were extremely clear and the illustrations are great for getting you through the "tricky" parts.
What I Loved:
This is actually a quick sew...once you get past all the cutting and ironing putting the bag together only takes a few hours. The results are very satisfying! The bag is very roomy, and it just looks beautiful. I know I'm going to get lots of requests from family and friends for this little gem.
What I Didn't Love:
Like I mentioned above, the prep work (cutting and ironing) takes some time - but doesn't it always?! The design itself is great....my only gripe is that it will take some experimenting to get the transition from the band to the bag right. The directions say to "pivot" the needle when sewing, but I think that makes for too much of an angle.

Suggested Changes:
Add some type of closure. Maybe a zippered pocket on the interior?
