Every year my daughters look forward to St. Patrick's Day. As much as they love the Irish Soda Bread, the fun clover decorations and the green milk, what they love most of all is the plan and attempt to catch one of those pesky Leprechauns!
This is the third year that they've crafted a trap in hopes of capturing one of the magical little creatures who go about making a mess in their room each and every St Patrick's Day. Overturned hampers, spilled hair accessory baskets and books strewn about is what the girls woke up to this morning. These little guys sure are mischievous!
This year my girls each decorated a shoebox covered in mailing paper. They used paint, markers, glitter glue and crayons to create an attractive abode to lure in a leprechaun. They even used skittles and coins as bait.
Alas, the leprechauns got the best of them. They are just too tricky! They managed to set off one of the traps without being caught. But they did leave behind some gold coins and a note which made my girls' day!
Well, maybe next year!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
