This weekend I went to a baby shower for a very close friend. It was a beautiful event and I had a wonderful time. I haven't been to a baby shower in a few years, and I have to say, the activities were so thoughtful and touching so I wanted to share.
First, we were all asked to bring the baby a book. This may not be a new idea, but it is a lovely one. When baby comes, Mom will have a small library of favorites to read.
Each place setting had a small piece of baby outfit shaped paper so everyone could write a personal message to Baby and Mom.
Once the note was written, it was hung on a small "clothesline" which was hanging on the wall. I thought this was just too adorable!
Each guest was also given a piece of paper that had a bunch of unfinished wish statements for baby. Example: I hope that you will grow ______________.
I thought these little activities were so thoughtful and touching. Meaningful messages and notes from loved ones. Little treasures to be kept forever.
And yes, of course I made Mom-to-be some handmade goodness. Along with a bunch of bibs, wipes cases, burpies and onesies, I made a lovely diaper bag using the Large Mail Sack pattern from Pink Chalk Studio (with a custom interior of course).
What a fun weekend! I hope you had a great one as well.
It was a beautiful shower and those special touches made it extra lovely and so different....had a fun time!
