My Crazy Week in Review

Wow....this week, once again, has flown by.  And, once again, I bumbled my way through it as a whole lot of unexpected came my way.  My nice long list of work "to-dos" was thrown by the wayside as life took over as it always does.

Monday:  After loading the kids in my car to drop them off at school my car wouldn't turn over.  We jumped out and quickly walked to both schools (on the way my youngest fell and skinned her knee).  On the way home, I walked to my auto service center and arranged for them to jump my car, drove it to said service center and had the battery replaced, along with some other issues they found.  I walked home, then walked back to get the car when it was finished.  1/2 my workday was gone.  I managed to get two orders finished before it was pick up time.

Tuesday:  Hubby woke up sick, well, he didn't really wake up - he stayed in bed - all day!  Little one stayed home with me and we tried to remain quiet all day so hubby could get much needed rest.  No work done.

Wednesday:  Had an appointment that lasted from 8am - 12pm.  Had just enough time to finish up this bag before picking up kids:

This was all I managed to get done on my work day.  Ugh.

Thursday:  Older Monkey woke up with pink eye.  No school, doctor's appointment, skipped little monkey's gymnastics class because of sister's pink eye.  Trip to pharmacy for eye drops.  Clean and disinfect house like a crazy woman.  No work done.

Friday:  Today.  My kids haven't woken up yet so I'm not sure what is going to happen.  This is my last work day of the week....fingers crossed that I can get something done today.  So, for those of you on my wait list, this is why the list hasn't moved much this week...hoping for a more productive week next week.

On a positive note, while I feel awful about not getting work done, I'm so lucky that I am able to take the time to take care of my family's unexpected needs without having anyone to answer to but myself.  Whenever I have a week like this, I read (and reread) this quote:

"One hundred years from now,
It won't matter what car I drove,
What kind of house I lived in,
How much I had in my bank account,
Nor what my clothes looked like,
But, the world may be a little better
Because I was important in the life of a child."
