So, I had a little time yesterday to "play". I have been wanting to make a small cross-body bag with skinny straps for those quick errands that require a wallet, keys and sunglasses....you know what I'm talking about!
I first scouted the net to see if I could find something, but nothing really screamed at me....so I came up with this simple design.
The design is simple. Two outer slip pockets (one on each side), a skinny adjustable strap (tie - no hardware), a zipper closure and a plain interior (no pockets).
I actually liked the bag so much, I made a second one....
And, I think I'll be making even more of these.....
I'm contemplating drafting a pattern for it...
What do you think? Would you purchase a pattern for this bag?
UPDATE: I am currently working on the pattern for this bag and it will be available for purchase soon!

I don't sew, but I'd definatly buy one of these bags. Planning a trip to Vegas this summer and need to get a bag like this for the trip
ReplyDeleteThanks! I may offer a few in my Etsy shop soon. They are the perfect size for travel!
DeleteYes, I would like a pattern for this, I like the idea of no hardware.
DeleteYes, I definitely would love to have a pattern for this bag! I love the uncovered slip pocket on the outside and would like a few card slots and a zippered pocket on the inside. When do you plan to publish the pattern for sale?
DeleteYes. I think it is a really cute bag and I know it would be something I could use especially for those shopping and beach trips.
ReplyDeleteCute! I love it!! I would be making a bunch of these too! One for everyday!:)
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE a pattern. I love hip bags for quick trips. I'd make one in every color.
ReplyDeleteYeah! Sounds like there is interest. I will find some time to work on a pattern! Stay tuned!

ReplyDeleteWould love the pattern, thought this post was it! Very cute and looks easy enough for me!
ReplyDeleteLooking for a easy pattern. I have some.Beautiful fabrics I would love to make bags using this fabric. New at sewing
ReplyDeleteI'm into making bags recently and of course i love to have a pattern.
ReplyDeleteActually I would not buy a pattern. Your good design is simple enough to look at and make my own pattern. If one has the skills to sew this project I would think they would have the skills to make the pattern which is a series of rectangles of various sizes. Not trying to knock your project because it looks great and seems to be very functional.
ReplyDeleteCute bag. I've been looking for a small bag like this for vacation. Hard to find. Yes I would buy a pattern if not too pricey.
ReplyDeleteHello Jennifer, I would love to buy the pattern for this small bag. Is it possible? Thank you Anne

ReplyDeleteBonjour,
ReplyDeleteOu peut on trouver le tuto/patron pour réaliser ce magnifique petit sac ?
Merci pour votre réponse.
Did you ever make this pattern? I see comments from 2012 until 2022. I would like to know where I can get the pattern. I can't tell from the picture your posted. How did you attach the thin straps to the bag?
ReplyDeleteI like it very much but would put one zipper pocket inside
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern for this?
ReplyDeleteVery interested.
Asking about pattern also…
ReplyDeleteWhere is the pattern for this or do have a free tutorial to watch…it is very cute…
ReplyDeleteWould love the pattern
ReplyDeleteIt is very simple, but useful bag for travel. Although I prefer adjustable strap with hardware. I have been making this type of bag for years. I call them "pocket purses"
