In My Studio this Week

This week has been a busy one.  Aside from my usual orders I've been busy sewing up some random goodness.

The biggest project I had was to make a cover for bench cushion. As you can see, the original cushion was a boring cream color.....what a difference some beautiful fabric can make!
I made this for a friend who has two small boys, so I wanted to make it removable so it could be washed.  I debated between a zipper and Velcro...since I didn't have a long zipper on hand, I went with Velcro.

And I had some fabric left over, so I made a matching pillow.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the finished set on the bench, but I can tell you it looks great!  If you have any boring cushions around your house, I highly recommend recovering.  This took me about 1.5 hours.

Another little project I had was this personalized bib.  I make these all the time, but this time I did something different.  I appliqued the first letter and embroidered the rest.  Cute!

My youngest daughter has a birthday party coming up next week so I made this crayon tote for her to give as a gift.  I'm sure it will be cherished!

And finally, I spent a chunk of time shooting pictures for the little hip bag I shared with you last week.
YES! - I plan to create a pattern/eBook for this cute bag that will be available for sale in my Etsy shop, here on my blog and on my website.  Aren't you excited?!  I'm not sure when it will be finished, as writing up a salable pattern and creating a tutorial are two completely different animals.

Meanwhile, if you don't sew, and would like to get your hands on one of these, I am offering a very limited quantity of custom order bags for $25.00 (free shipping) as I work on writing the instructions.  You can choose from any of my fabrics!  If interested, send me an email (jennifer@sewplicity.com)

Now...back to work!
