My Bedroom Makeover

About 3 weeks ago I woke up one morning, looked around my bedroom and decided it was time for a change.  My bedroom has always been a clutter zone.  It seemed to be the dumping ground for all unfolded laundry, random paperwork and pictures, kids toys and whatever else.  Cleaning it up has been on my to-do list for just about ever, and for whatever reason that morning seemed to be "the day".
The kids were in school and hubby was at work - I had my morning coffee and went to town!  I not only moved every piece of furniture and cleaned like I was going to be getting a white glove inspection from some military commander, but I went out to Home Goods and picked up some new accent pieces.

Teal is the Color:
This lovely candle was a perfect compliment to the doily my great aunt made many years ago.
The picture is from our wedding (we married in a tiny chapel in Sedona, AZ
with a handful of family & friends)
The basket was from a bath set I received as a gift, and the jewelry tree is
what prompted the teal theme.
Did you notice the Dragonflies?
A gift from my husband, and my "everyday" necklace.
Can you see it?  I think it's meant for a garden, but it is lovely in this bouquet.
Its wings glow in the dark!

Almost There...
I still am on a hunt for a new comforter that will bring out that bright and cheery teal and when I find it I want to update my pillows to match (although I must find something to do with my Lacework pillow - I still love this fabric)
I am still debating whether or not to make the curtains on my double window into panels like I did on the single window.
The draped curtain never looked right on this window, so I cut it and created the single panel.
I think this style is a bit more romantic
....

So, there is my almost finished makeover.  This room is no longer the "dumping ground" and although it annoys my husband, and inconveniences my kids, it makes me happy every time I walk through the door.....just as it should!
