My Rowenta is on its last legs....it started leaking and spitting last week and this is totally unacceptable! I've had my Rowenta Focus for about a year and I thought it would last a bit longer.
While I love Rowenta (I've owned many of them), they seem to give out after a year of use. I don't know if this is because I use them so much, or if that is just their lifespan.
Anyway, I decided to get away from Rowenta {GASP} and try something new. After tons of research I had narrowed my choice down to the Olsio TG-1600 and the Reliable Digital Velocity V100 Steam Iron.
Both are professional grade irons, and offer great steam power. I found that both are used by seamstresses and offer the option of not shutting off after 8 minutes (a necessity in my sewing room). They both promise to not drip or spit (but so did my Rowenta!). And both offer 1800w of power and constant steam - another necessity.
The Olsio has the cool feature of "iTouch auto-lift technology" which pops the iron up on little legs when you let it go....you never have to stand it up! Very cool and different! It also has a 12ft power cord.
The Olsio costs about $169
The Reliable has a larger water reservoir (1.8 cups). It also has an anti-scale cartridge. The Reliable costs about $139
So....which did I decide on? Check back on Wednesday for the reveal!
