STEP 1
1. Cut an additional 7"x 4" piece of fabric AND interfacing to create the pocket

2. Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric

STEP 2
1. Fold the fabric in half length wise
2. Iron 1/2" seams on the narrow edges (you can do this prior to the above step if you want). This creates a finished seam which you will topstitch later

STEP 3
1. Using a 1/2" seam, sew both sides (with raw edges) together...do not sew the top or bottom (ironed edges or folded edge)

STEP 4
1. Turn the pocket right side out and iron

STEP 5
1. Topstitch the open edge

STEP 6
1. Center the pocket on the cozy width wise about 2" down from the end. Be sure to place the stitched end (not the folded end) closest to top of the main fabric (this is just for aesthetics)
2. Topstitch 1/8" down the right side of the pocket, across the bottom and back up the left side - DO NOT stitch across the top of the pocket - this is the opening!

STEP 7
1. Add the closure of your choice (snap, velcro, etc) to the pocket - I used a snap
STEP 8
1. Follow the rest of the tutorial. Be sure that when you sew the main fabric to the lining you place the end with the pocket opposite the elastic.
